Time: 9:00am
Where:  St Georges Park (Hospital side entrance)

Port Elizabeth hosts a monthly Scottie Walk, where beautiful Scottish Terriers and their owners

get together to walk their dogs and socialise.

Other breeds of dogs are welcome too (as all doggy family members need to go on the family outing)

This month’s event will be held at St Georges Park (entrance at the hospital side).

The walk starts at 9am and it is advised that everyone arrives a little earlier in order for everyone to get acquainted and for some of the dogs to settle in (and if needed, take your dog for a quick walk so that they loose some of that excess energy)

Shy, scared or aggressive dogs are advised to wear a yellow ribbon and to stay a bit further back during the walk. It is also advised that owners pay close attention to their dogs at all times in case of excitement changing into aggression.

St Georges Park is a lovely venue as it has different, interesting paths, lots of shade for the dogs and a half-way pit stop where those who are not able to walk that far can wait, which will be the meeting spot again for everyone who does a little further walk will meet up again.

Food is collected on a monthly basis and is in aid of different animal organisations each month.

At the April walk, all dog/cat food donations received will be in aid of Animal Welfare Society of PE and any money donations received will be in aid of Scottish Terrier Rescue SA.

Another plus of all the Scottie owners getting together and meeting each other , is, that if a Scottie gets lost or is found in the surrounding area, we have contact names, numbers, email, and facebook details to help get the Scottie back home.

Scottie Walks are being held all over the country, especially Gauteng (Janine Botha) and Cape Town (Estea and Irene)

So please spread the word of the Scottie walks and hopefully there will be a lot of Scotties, new faces and old at the next Scottie Walk.

Please remember to bring along some water for your dog, as well as plastic bags to clean up after your dog.
