6 tips for creating a garden in spring that your pet can also enjoy

Spring has sprung, and it is time to get the garden back to a luscious green place to relax, bond with nature and spend time with your family and pets. Here are six tips to help you achieve that goal.

1. Plan your garden

Before you rush out to the closest nursery to buy what you need for your garden, take some time to ponder what you want from it. Do you want a colourful garden with a variety of flowers? Do you want a functional garden with space for the dogs and children to play? Maybe you would prefer to plant some veggies and herbs.

When you know what you want from your garden, draw up a rough plan of where you want to place your plants and where you want your dogs to run and play.

2. Safe plants

When you have pets that frequent your garden, you may want to consider planting animal-safe plants. You don’t want any of your pets to suffer from allergies caused by plants, or even worse, expose them to poisonous varieties. 3. Plants to avoid

In addition to poisonous plants, there are a few other aspects you may want to consider before planting specific plants. These include plants with sharp-edged leaves and plants with thorns – the bigger the thorns, the more injuries they pose.
