The heaviest elephant tusk recorded weighed almost 120kg, and the longest tusk measured 3.5m. Talk about a terrible toothache. Tusks never stop growing, so the older the elephant, the longer the tusk. In Africa, both bulls and cows have tusks. They use their tusks to dig up roots to eat, to lift objects and to strip bark from trees. They also use their tusks to defend themselves and their herds.

Some otters really hold hands while they’re sleeping. In most cases, it is mother and baby holding hands, and the reason is so that they don’t drift apart while sleeping. Sea otters also cling to kelp to keep from floating away while they’re sleeping. Freshwater otters will sleep on land.

The animal who is the high jump champion is without a doubt a froghopper. This little insect is on average 1.5cm long and can jump as high as 70cm, accelerating at 4,000m/s. He feeds on plants by piercing the plant and sucking its juices.
