Q& A: Bearded dragon games

Q: How often should I play with my bearded dragon, and what games could I play with him?

A: Reptiles, especially bearded dragons, can be surprisingly playful. Handling him several times a week would be sufficient to keep him tame, but handling for short periods every day would be acceptable in a tame adult. Handling too frequently can stress juveniles and cause them to stop eating. Beardies are very food driven, so games can include searching for insects and chasing insects, for example. I have even seen some who will chase insects on an iPad app. The game should always end with a food reward to keep them interested and happy.
