Craig Van Rensberg shares with Animaltalk the snakes that he gets called out for on the South Coast in KZN.
Most snakes are easily identifiable if you know what to look for.
What confuses most people are green coloured snakes. We get four types of green snake on the South Coast and only ONE is venomous.
The harmless green ones are always thin, have a yellow belly and often have black spots on the neck.
The green mamba is the venomous one and has a green belly, is quite thick and never has markings.
The following are snake call-outs over the last two days.

3). Green Mamba (Venomous, but placid, shy and retiring)
