Tributes have been pouring in for Diesel, the dog who lost her life in the recent attacks in Paris. After the horrific event, the national police announced in a tweet that the seven-year-old Malinois was “killed by terrorists.”
Diesel was part of the French police’s anti terrorist unit (RAID), and died while on duty. She was sent first into an apartment where terrorists were believed to be hiding out. A female suicide bomber then started firing at police before blowing herself up with a suicide belt – and sadly this is when Diesel was killed.
Around the world people are applauding the bravery of Diesel and her handlers, with the hastag #Jesuisunchien (meaning ‘I am a dog’) going viral on Twitter.
