On Wednesday 9 December 2015, San Lameer Country Club was the proud host for the Golfing for Teddy golf day to raise teddies and funds to buy for children in hospital on Christmas Day. These Teddies will be a companion and friend to many children in hospital too ill to make it home for Christmas. Heinrich Du Preez gave his Christmas to be dressed as Santa to brighten up the days of those who need it most.
70 teddy bears and about R6,000 was raised on the day. The proud winner was the nine year old Reinhardt Uys who managed to eagle the 10th hole. It was great to see a youngster walk away with first prize.
A special thanks to Claudia Sherrin from Panorama Media Corp / Animaltalk magazine for their involvement on this special day. She was the first person to contact us and showed their eagerness to participate and to contribute to the success of this day. huge thank you must go to Heinrich Du Preez who started this great initiative, his selflessness is such an inspiration to sponsors and beneficiaries.
