The 2018 1000 Paws Walk for SPCA will be held on Sunday 15 July 2018 at the usual venue – Hilton College. This joint fundraising event of the SPCA branches of Pietermaritzburg, Umngeni-Howick and Mooi River & District sees hundreds of dogs and their owners sharing the 2km and 4km walks through the school’s scenic grounds. There are also numerous activities and entertainment for everyone including non-walkers to enjoy. The kiddies in particular have a ball and love the challenge of the obstacle course and displays by canine outreach programmes the Bruntville Dog Project and Funda Nenja.
Every year this event increases in popularity and as 2018 will be the 10th anniversary of the 1000 Paws Walk in the Midlands, let’s make it a bumper one!
All monies raised through this event and its related raffles and individual walker sponsorships are divided between these three SPCA branches, benefitting the needy and neglected animals of the region. So come along and make a difference, while having fun in the sun with your favourite furry walking partner.
