Looking for something fun for the whole family to enjoy? Then head to the Moonlight Dog Walk on Friday 5 October at Killarney International Raceway in Milnerton. Presented by Hill’s Pet Nutrition and in aid of the Cape Animal Welfare Forum (CAW) it’s a fun family night out for the whole family, furry family members included of course.
“We fully support the CAW Forum, whose members include Animal Rescue Organisation, African Tails, TEARS, Lucky Lucy Foundation, Mdzananda and Four Paws to name but a few. We didn’t think twice to hop on board this great event, especially with World Animal Day the day before, what better way to celebrate than with the whole family?” says Carla Bath, Hill’s marketing manager.
It’s only fitting that the event happens to fall a day after World Animal Day on the 4 October. According to the Naturewatch Foundation (sponsors of World Animal Day since 2003) the mission of World Animal Day is: “To raise the status of animals to improve welfare standards around the globe. Building the celebration of World Animal Day unites the animal welfare movement, mobilising it into a global force to make the world a better place for all animals. It’s celebrated in different ways in every country, irrespective of nationality, religion, faith or political ideology. Through increased awareness and education, we can create a world where animals are always recognised as sentient beings and full regard is always paid to their welfare.”
Gates open at 5pm and the walk starts at 7:15pm with 2km and 3km options. The cost is R60 per dog, R30 per adult and kids under 16 enter for free. Plus, each dog will receive a free Hill’s Woofy Bag.
